At Home in my Skin
Aquarius, the Water Bearer, and the fixed air sign in astrology, is by far the most influential of the constellations currently (October 2021) due to a multitude of planets being in the sign of Aquarius. Talk about Aquarius Rising!
How I work with astrology is I try to understand where it is showing me where to bring awareness or what to pay attention to in certain areas of my life. If you’ve read my other posts, you’ll know that I’ve recently done a big relocation – moving from one province to another, here in South Africa. The move happened on the back of not being able to find a rental home where I was (that location was definitely no longer required for me and my growth and progress thorough my life) and then finding myself in the birth city of my paternal grandfather, Port Elizabeth, known as the “Windy (Air) City”. It also meant moving from a stand alone house into a complex with multiple, small units adjoining each other. Community living. This movement meant another layer of ‘home’ change for me ie. adjusting to a very small space. It has its benefits I confess – letting go of material objects and items because there’s no longer space for them, literally. But as it turns out, there’s no space for them either as they no longer represent the ‘new’ me that I’m moving more and more into. Silver lining and lightening of my load!
So at play, in my integrating of life’s changes, I perceive multiple views on what does “HOME” mean to me?
There’s the physical structure and my needs for a safe and secure place that I can re-treat to to recharge and express myself. There’s my emotional connection and needs regarding a home. This also involves feeling ‘safe’ in my home being a welcome space for my younger daughter and I where we can be held, allowing us to be whatever our emotional and feeling fluctuations might be! There’s the spiritual association of home: my physical body is my soul’s home whilst I journey through this earthly realm. And there’s the mental associations, patterns and attitudes I have regarding what my home is about, what it needs to be and what it actually is. My environment has a direct impact on my four lower bodies, thereby having a deeper component to ‘home’ than just being four walls where I sleep at night.
Why am I harping on ‘home’?
In my case, the Aquarius constellation is found in my 4th House of my personal birth chart. In my life now, as highlighted by my personal blueprint (birthchart is one’s blueprint for life), the 4th house of home, is my current year theme in alignment witfh my rising sign of Scorpio too. Using the Earthbody readings, I now know too that I reside in the Skin (Earthbody location of my home), which is part of the Sensory System of the Human body. Working with the skin, I’m also drawn to deepening its impact on and support for me at me becoming “at home” inside my own skin. So, no matter which way I read it: Earthbody locations or the astrology now (my natal chart or the current transits), home as a foundation, both past and future has my attention.
I am truly and sincerely blessed to not only have a basic understanding of astrology, but to be able to see how it is interwoven into the Earthbody readings so that they can be personalised for each individual in a specific location.
