Aphrodite's Rock, Paphos, Cyprus
Aphrodite's Rock, known also as Petra tou Romiou (Rock of the Greek), is located between Paphos and Limassol on the island of Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean and is the mythological birthplace of the Greek Aphrodite. In Roman mythology, she is known as Venus. Legend has it that under instruction from his mother Gaia, Cronos castrated Uranus and threw his testicles into the sea. A white foam appeared out of which Aphrodite, the most beautiful of all goddesses emerged. According to local folklore, anyone who swims around Aphrodite's Rock will be blessed with eternal beauty. From an Earthbody point of view, this location is associated with Crystal Tablet 14, called Mischa. She bears the gift of FAITH. If you're attracted to this location and/or you want to restore your faith in life, this is a wonderful place to visit. Mischa and her gift of faith remind you that despite the challenges you may face in your life that leave you feeling like an 'island'- fragmented and vulnerable - you are never alone. When you feel alone, you've lost your sense of self, your wholeness (your 'all-oneness'). Remember that an island may appear to be isolated but it is always rooted to the Oceanic Crust. By analogy, diving deep within yourself is where you find your 'root' and your 'all-oneness'. This is where you garner new perspectives and renew trust in yourself and your life path. Confident and comfortable with who you are, like Aphrodite, you may then rise up and face the world in all your magnificence.
